Adopt An Institution

Organisations housing the needy look for a sense of security in every aspect – be it regular supply of food, water, clothing or daily essentials. Chennai Food Bank helps donors adopt such needy Institution for the entire year by providing food supplies for all the meals for the inmates.

Food grains are delivered to these Institutions depending on number of inmates and the nature of inmates (students, senior citizens, children, cancer patients etc.)

Quality food and regular supply ensure the Institutions can take care of the hygiene and health of the inmates while we support them with regular supplies of food grains with the help of donors.

Each one doing their bit can solve the problem of hunger

Hunger is a global phenomena and cannot be eradicated unless each one of us do our bit for the society. Around the world, more than enough food is produced to feed the global population—but as many as 811 million people still go to bed hungry and every thirteen seconds, a child dies from the effects of hunger. After steadily declining for a decade, world hunger is on the rise, affecting 9.9 percent of people globally.

Organisations around the world have been supporting the cause of eradicating hunger and RYA Madras Metro Trust is playing it’s role through the Chennai Food Bank program to ensure quality food grains are distributed to the needy Institutions which house the lesser privileged and real needy people. With over 60 institutions supported annually and over 40 million meals served since 1993, Chennai Food Bank program continues to strive to reach to more needy Institutions and support them with regular food supplies.

The war against hunger is truly mankind’s war of liberation.

– JOHN F. KENNEDY

Any help to eradicate hunger is invaluable

With over thousands of institutions housing orphans, destitute, abandoned families, RYA Madras Metro Trust takes the lead in identifying the deserving, needy and trustworthy institutions who genuinely are in need of support. Through Chennai Food Bank program, we support the institutions by providing regular supplies of food throughout the year. You can adopt an Institution and help them get access to food grains for their inmates for the entire year.
